HITACHI Inspire Series SBR Chains offer greater resistance to fatigue failure resulting from compressive residual stress. Also they boast a longer wear life due to their high hardness shell - thus keeping the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) down. Additionally, the corrosion protection (from a proprietary stainless steel blast treatment) contributes to keeping the replacement intervals longer therefore offering an even lower TCO.

Triple Zone Hardness Wear Protection
A residual, but important benefit of Hitachi's new "Hi-Energy Mechanical Process" is that an ultra-high harness shell is developed on the surface of carburized pins and bushings. This effectively gives these wearing components three major layers of protection:

-
Ultra-High Hardness Shell (Black Zone - See Left)
-
High Hardness Carburized Case (Blue Zone - See Left)
-
Core Hardness
(Orange Zone - See Left)

Stainless Steel Blast Treatment
Components of the new Inspire Series SBR roller chains are coated with a film of stainless steel achieved through a proprietary blast treatment. The film works with a high quality pre-lubricant to protect the chain from corrosive attack and extend life. The blast also gives the chain an enhanced silver color appearance.
